Decades ago, the critical electronic components in a race car were the ignition coil and points. Race cars now feature advanced engine management systems, antilock brake systems, paddle shifters, dataloggers, radios, electric pumps, fans, and lights. All components need to be controlled at the correct moment, and all components require circuit protection to prevent damage or fire.
Traditionally, fuses and relays served all of those purposes, but they have many disadvantages like complicated wiring looms, sensitivity to vibration/temperature, and difficult diagnostics. All of these problems can be solved by using intelligent power management units (PMUs). Our newly developed PMU unit is at the forefront of technology. It provides 16 high current outputs (and use of multiple units if more outputs are required).
One of the main advantages of the PMU is continuous current sensing and self-resetting functionality if current exceeds the defined level. All output state, voltage and current information can be logged and transmitted via CAN bus to dash displays to inform drivers of potential problems. An additional advantage of the PMU system is the ability to define logic for controlling outputs. This is done with data from analogue input channels or CAN bus data, and math operations can be defined for each channel.
The PMU is also equipped with LED indicators to show the status of each output. With use of CAN bus keypads or steering wheel switches, all wiring is vastly simplified and lightened. Two unique features are the inbuilt accelerometer and gyro for logging and “inertia switch” in case of accident.
TECHNOLOGY
The PMU16 is assembled according to IPC-S-815A standards to ensure product reliability. The device is manufactured on an automated assembly line with optical inspection, and automated testing (including burn-in). The PCB material and design, special surface coating and IP65 enclosure ensure reliability even in the harshest environments. Carefully selected components allow for continuous and reliable operation across a very wide temperature range (AECQ-100 GRADE 1 (-40 to 125˚C).

The Printed Flying Lead Harness for the ECUMaster EMU Black is the perfect starting point for your custom ECUMaster EMU Black installation. Whether you have a unique engine combination or just want to start with brand new wiring, our 2.5 meter harness is the perfect backbone for your project. The harness includes 59 unshielded wires with terminals, each labeled with a channel name, and 4 pairs of shielded motorsport quality wire.
ECUMaster WHPBD1 Basic Dash Display is an exciting new product that is an affordable display option. While we would love to sell every customer an ADU5 or ADU7, there are many customers whose budgets and requirements don't need a full-color logging motorsport dash. The WHPBD1 can display up to 7 parameters at once as well as a progressive shift light. Most channels have a programmable warning level. If the warning threshold is exceeded, the display for that channel will flash to warn the driver. The shift light is programmable as well. The WHPBD1 comes with a harness that is pre-terminated for connection with the serial port of an EMU or EMU Classic, and offers a two-wire connection to the EMU Black via serial.
EDL-1 adds logging functionality to the EMU or EMU Black (not compatible with the EMU CAN, only the EMU with 5 pin serial port). Equipped with both bluetooth capability and a port for an SD card, the EDL-1 allows you to log all data channels provided by the EMU just as if you were logging with a laptop. Reviewing data has never been easier. Simply remove the SD card (sold separately) and review the log using a laptop. All logs are marked with time stamps, and a battery backup in the EDL-1 ensures that dates and times are marked accurately. The EDL-1 can log up to 11 hours of data on 1GB of card memory, so a 4GB card or larger is recommended. The EDL-1 does not come with a memory card, so a card will need to be purchased separately. Installation of the EDL-1 is straightforward with a simple 4 wire connection. The EDL-1 case is compact in size, with a footprint roughly 2/3 the size of a business card. Mounting is accomplished using doublesided tape or velcro, or flush mounting the EDL-1 to a panel using the two mounting screws on the face of the device. Built-in Bluetooth functionality allows the user to transmit data to an Android phone or tablet, enabling the use of an Android tablet as a dash.
Treat your noggin to something stylish, high quality, and comfortable with this ECUMaster embroidered snapback. The ECUMaster logo is 3D embroidered, the top of the bill is black to contrast the hat, and the underside of the bill is yellow to match the logo.
Our product is dedicated for all Lotus S2 enthusiasts, this system is a great upgrade for your car because it gives you full control over your engine parameters without needing any modifications to the original wiring harness. The ECU comes unlocked with all functions enabled including traction control , pit limiters , launch controls and much more. A great feature included in the EMU Black is the wide band lambda controller which is built in, along side knock control, full VVT access and lift is also supported. The Lotus heat soak pump functionality is also retained this is very important and our ECU as a standalone ECU keeps this feature !! The EMU Black Supports all versions of instruments panels, a plus with this also is if you are using a V Box unit there are options for more channels and this can be recorded and streamed. The lotus OEM CAN bus can only stream coolant temp and rpm, however our ECU can access all CANbus options like TPS, cranking etc for extra data analysis.
Please note: If the 1 Mbps Lotus CAN dashboard feature will be used, the ECUMaster 500 kbps CAN Bluetooth unit we offer will not work due to the CAN bus speed difference. Instead, we offer the EDL-1 logger as a great addition when purchased with the Lotus EMU Black. The EDL-1 logger has the Bluetooth feature for connecting an Android device to view sensor data from the EMU. The EDL-1 uses the EMU Serial bus instead of CAN to obtain EMU sensor data and also creates a new log file each time the EMU is powered up with a time and date format.
